In his report Superintendent Bratton noted that Chevron work is ongoing.   Windows at the High School and the sliding doors at Southeast are now scheduled to be started in late March, which is preferable because of the warmer weather.  Chevron has also suggested that thc BOE adopt an Energy Management Policy in order to help control costs and save money.   "I would ask that you take a look at their proposal and after studying it, come to a resolution to adopt or not at the March Board meeting" he asked of the board.

Additionally Superintendent Bratton asked the Board to "work with me on approaching the Elections Board to consider moving the voting out of our elementary schools for next year.   Concerns over parking, inadequate space, class/student inconveniences and number one safety, are the reasons.   We need to address this issue somehow.   We want to be a good neighbor, but not at the risk of our students".

The Superintendent asked the Board of Education to approve the Salem High School Band to travel to Disney World, Orlando, Florida, to perform in the parade at the park. The students will depart on November 7th and return on November 11,2012. Funding will be provided by the Band Boosters and each student.

In the JUNIOR HIGH report as presented by Principle Sean Kirkland the 8th grade class trip will once again be traveling to Pennsylvania to enjoy a day at Kennywood Park.   "The students have worked very hard fundraising for this event.   Sydney Fullum and Tyler Simms were the top sellers in their class and received $100 checks for their efforts last Friday.  In addition, twenty one students were treated to a limo ride and lunch this past Friday (February 17, 2012) for their effort towards raising money for their class".
