WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The No. 3 Mount Union football team shut out Otterbein, 21-0, in a road Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest Saturday afternoon.

The shout out was Mount Union's fourth of the last five meetings against the Cardinals, and eighth of the last 13.

Junior quarterback Noah Beaudrie (Monroe, MI/Erie-Mason) went 14 of 19 with 205 yards and touchdown – a four-yard pass to senior Tyrell Sanders (Indianapolis, IN/Pike) in the second quarter. Sanders led all receivers with 107 yards, his second career 100-yard game, from a team- and career-high seven catches. Moore passed Matt Campbell (1999-02) and Lambert Budzinski (2007-10) for fourth all-time in program history in career sacks, now with 28.0. Senior Von Factor (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) added a sack, the 19th of his career.

Senior Brandon Yanssens (Columbiana, OH/Crestview) and classmate Marcus Jackson (Dallas, TX/Richardson) both had seven tackles, while Yanssens had an interception.

In the scoreless first quarter, Mount Union (4-0, 3-0 OAC) orchestrated drives of eight and nine plays, respectively, however turned the ball over on downs including at the one-yard line. The Purple Raider defense stopped Otterbein (0-4, 0-3 OAC) on fourth down, following its game-opening 10-play drive.

In the second quarter, the Mount Union defense forced a punt and the Raiders drove the field 70 yards on nine plays, capped off with a four-pass touchdown pass from Beaudrie to Sanders. The Raiders led 7-0 at halftime. Williams and Echeverry scored their 27-yard touchdown runs in the second half.

The Purple Raiders will next host Wilmington on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1:30 p.m. on Homecoming.
