The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates a Perry Township fatal crash

 

North Canton – The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred on June 14, 2024 at approximately 9:00pm on US 30 at milepost 12 in Perry Township, Stark County, Ohio.

 

Ms. Dajanique A. Sanders, 27, of Canton, was operating a 2006 Ford Freestyle westbound on US 30 when she traveled off the right side of the roadway, over corrected and continued off the left side of the roadway. The Ford rolled several times and continued across the eastbound lanes of US 30. The Ford traveled over the guardrail before coming to final rest on the southside of US 30.

 

Ms. Sanders was transported by Massillon Fire and EMS to Mercy Hospital for serious injuries.

 

Mr. Stencil Archie, 35, of Akron, was a front seat passenger in the Ford. He was transported by Perry Fire and EMS to Aultman Hospital. Mr. Archie was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival to the hospital. A seatbelt was not in use by the passenger.

 

Two juveniles were also passengers inside the Ford. One juvenile was transported by Canton Township Fire and EMS to Aultman Hospital for serious injuries and later flown to Akron Children’s Hospital. The second juvenile was transported by Perry Township Fire and EMS to Mercy Hospital for minor injuries and later transported to Akron Children’s Hospital as a precaution.

 

Perry Township Police Department, Perry Township Fire and EMS, Plain Township Fire and EMS, Massillon Fire and EMS, Reed’s Towing, and the Stark County Coroner’s Office assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol at the crash scene.

 

Alcohol was a factor in this crash. The crash remains under investigation.
