Stark County: Construction update

Stark County (Thursday, May 30, 2024) – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Stark County next week. All scheduled work is weather permitting.

Interstate 77 Slide Repair, Pike Township
I-77 southbound just south of Fohl St. is reduced to two 10-foot lanes for a slide repair. Estimated completion, early August 2024.

Interstate 77 pavement repairs, Canton
NEW IMPACT – Beginning Thursday evening, May 30, at 9 p.m., the following ramps will be closed through Friday morning, May 31, at 5 a.m.

· I-77 southbound to US 30 east and west. The detour will be I-77 south to SR 800 to I-77 north to US 30.

· US 30 east to I-77 south. The detour will be US 30 east to I-77 north to SR 172 to I-77 south.

· US 30 west to I-77 south. The detour will be US 30 east to I-77 north to SR 172 to I-77 south.

NEW IMPACT - Beginning Friday evening, May 31, at 8 p.m., the following ramps will be closed through Saturday morning, June 1, at 10 a.m.

· I-77 north to US 3 east and west. The detour will be I-77 north to SR 172 to I-77 south to US 30 east.

· US 30 east to I-77 north. The detour will be US 30 east to I-77 south to SR 800 south to I-77 north.

NEW IMPACT – I-77 northbound and southbound between SR 172 and SR 800 has various nightly lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. through mid-June for pavement repairs.

US Route 62 and State Route 183 resurfacing, Alliance
NEW IMPACT – Beginning Thursday, May 30, the following routes will have various lane restrictions for curb repairs and resurfacing:

· U.S. 62 between SR 183 and the Columbiana County line 

· SR 183 from Beech St. to College St. 

Estimated completion, late August 2024.

US Route 62; State Routes 21 & 619 microsurfacing, Massillon; Marlboro, Lexington & Perry Townships
The following routes will have various lane restrictions for pavement repairs and microsurfacing:

· US 62/SR 21 from the northern Navarre Corporation limit to just south of US 30

· SR 619 between Etter Rd. and Atwater Ave.

Estimated completion, June 2025.

State Route 44 & 153 resurfacing, Louisville
The following routes have various lane restrictions for pavement marking install and other miscellaneous work:

· SR 44 between the northern and southern Louisville Corporation limit

· SR 153 between W Gorgas St. and SR 44.

Estimated completion, early June 2024.

State Route 241 widening, Massillon
SR 241 between Pebble Chase Circle and Hills and Dales Rd. is reduced to one lane daily and maintained by flaggers for roadway improvements and storm sewer installation. Estimated completion, late summer 2024.
