Portage County: Construction Update

Week of July 1, 2024

Portage County (Thursday, June 27, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Portage County next week. All scheduled work is weather permitting.

State Route 43 widening, Streetsboro
SR 43 between Evergreen Dr. and Frost Rd. is reduced to one lane in each direction through late July for roadway widening. Estimated completion, June 2025.

State Route 44 culvert replacement, Shalersville Township
NEW IMPACT - Beginning on Monday, July 8, SR 44 between SR 303 and Lake Rockwell Rd. will be closed through mid-July for a culvert replacement.  The detour will be SR 303 to SR 88 to SR 14. 

State Route 59 resurfacing, Ravenna
SR 59 between the western Ravenna Corporation limit and the Eastern Ravenna Corporation limit has various lane restrictions for resurfacing. Estimated completion, late July 2024.

State Route 303 culvert replacement, Shalersville Township
NEW IMPACT - Beginning on Monday, July 15, SR 303 between SR 44 and Peck Rd will be closed through late July for a culvert replacement. The detour will be SR 44 to SR 14 to SR 88.
