AGENDA Boardman Local School District Board of Education meeting on January 23, 2012 :    Convening for the first regular Board meeting of 2012 the Board responded to a citizen request for confirmation of rumors and Board policies to address racial and vulgarity occurrences in the Boardman School system.     Superintendent Frank Lazzeri responded stating there was little or no truth to the allegations and suggesting that the spreading of the rumors were being fueled by Social Media such as Face Book.     Citing privacy and legal issues Superintendent Lazzeri asked that further discussions should take place in private after 10am at the school.     In other action the Board accepted donations to Stadium Drive Elementary School for $10,000 from Dr. James Chengelis for the creation of the Chengelis Science Investigation Lab.      Also accepted for Stadium Elementary is 65 smoke detectors with a value of $195 from Lowes and the Boardman Fire Dept for school families in need of a smoke detector.      Superintendent Lazzeri acknowledged January 2012 to be Board of Education month and presented a calendar of events for February (see AGENDA).
