** AGENDA ** WESTERN RESERVE LOCAL SCHOOLS APRIL 17, 2012 : Present at tonight's regular board meeting are board members Lisa Powell, President, Mark Halls, Vice-President, Brian Benyo, Sr., Richard Blevins, Melissa Potts and Superintendent Charles Swindler and Treasurer Carol Brobst.
A contract for bids that were received and opened on March 27,2012 for the Demolition of the Middle School and Elementary School was awarded to M&M Excavating for $346,000 with reservations expressed by Superintendent Swindler.
Voluntary student accident/sickness and football insurance was renewed with the National Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company, administered by Love Insurance Agency, for the 2012-2013 school year.
Volleyball Coaches approved for the 2012-2013 school year are Jennifer Paris.. ....... Head Varsity and Tammy Matulek. .... .8th Grade.
Boy's Basketball Coaches approved for the 2012-2013 school year are Timothy King.. ....... .Head Varsity and David Gilmartin.. .... ...Volunteer.
Girl's Basketball Coaches approved for the 2012-2013 school year are Josh Scott.. ............ .Head Varsity and Michael Scott.. ........ Assistant Varsity and David Martin*. ........ 9th Grade* *(If numbers warrant a team).
Teresa Mucha was approved as Head Golf Coach for the 2012-2013 school year.
Gay Stack was approved as High School Cheerleader Advisor for the 2012-2013 school year.
Updated is the Windmill status with Superintendent Swindler stating that settlement and reactivation of the three wind turbines could happen anytime depending on a determination of responsibility for the wind turbine that was damaged. The company that manufactured the wind turbines has since declared bankruptcy and is no longer in business.
Questions and concerns were raised about rumors that a Principal may be cut and the Board assured everyone that the issue would soon be addressed.
