Eight Car Injury Crash on SR-14 in Ravenna Township Ravenna Twp. – Troopers from the Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating an injury traffic crash that occurred on SR-14 east of SR-44 at 7:10 AM in Portage County. Traffic was backed up due to an earlier crash on State Route 14. Constance Sott, 53, of Ravenna traveled left of center and was struck by a Peterbilt service truck operated by Mark Spouse, 27, of Mantua. After impact Sotts vehicle was forced right into a Freightliner straight truck operated by Robert Logan, 42, of Akron. The service truck, after impact, traveled left of center into a Chevrolet pickup operated by Leonard Howes, 53, of Deerfield. Howess vehicle was forced into a Freightliner refrigeration straight truck operated by Benjamin Golden, 32, of Akron. The service truck then continued left of center through stopped traffic and struck a Chevrolet SUV operated by Lisa Wolfarth, 52, of Diamond. Wolfarths vehicle was pushed back into the front of a Ford pickup operated by Travis Nunley, 21, of Ravenna. The service truck next struck a Buick SUV operated by Andrea Jenic, 68, of Salem. Finally, the service truck traveled off the north side of the roadway and overturned into a ditch. Sott, Wolfarth, and Golden were transported by Ravenna Twp. EMS to University Hospital in Ravenna for non-life threatening injuries. SR-14 was closed for approximately one hour and fifty minutes before the westbound lanes were reduced to single lane traffic for approximately one hour and fifty minutes. The Ohio Department of Transportation, Portage County Sheriffs Department, and the Ravenna Police Department assisted with traffic control. Additional agencies on scene were Complete Towing, Johns Towing, and F & S Towing. Alcohol and drugs are not a factor in this crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
